Statement.

[link to this post]

The post below is made by me as an individual..

------------

Simon

Just to let you and others know that I got your PM. From the contents therein it is obvious you have been given false information by someone who was a past employee and the information is wrong.
You were warned in my earlier post that you only had half the story and not the full facts, but you still you continued to push.

If the information provided were true, then I believe I would have a case against a breach of the DPA.
Now some may argue that PN breached the DPA when they accidentally released the email information.
- You and your "source" on the other hand would be knowingly disclosing information about someones account for no apparent aim other than to try and settle a score with PlusNet.
2 wrongs dont make a right, and any disclosing that you are making is deliberate and calculated to try and score points, no matter who stands in the way.

Since the PlusNet reps left, PUG became the target, and now its an individual.
Maybe you feel that I am a softer and easier target than PlusNet.
I really am not sure what your game is now by trying to drag me into it.
But in both this thread and the other one you have made several false implications.

~ Yes I have a "20:1" connection, but I pay for it.
~ No I do not have any special ellacoya profile applied to my account.
~ I have NOT received any "special" treatment from PlusNet.
~ PUG and other known forum members do not get a special profile that entitles them to better speeds and throughput than normal customers as you first implied.

Despite numerous people on these very forums saying that PN should give me a free upgrade when I was getting sub 300kbps speeds and was dragging on for several months.
I actually declined a free upgrade because I wanted to try and take this further with BT, in the futile hope that it would help other users in the future.

You are grasping at straws from some half baked information you think you have received. I could give you a pile of facts to prove your allegations are unfounded.. but Im not playing your game.

If I did, it would disclose conversations I had with Ben Verwaayens Office, compensation from BT and also involve several other ISPs which if I named them could prove interesting to some of you who think your own ISP is sacred.
But suffice to say, I took this as high as I could myself through posts on here and contacts as an ex-adsl campaigner, even Andrew himself was instrumental in helping me contacting BT, and Id like to thank all those AGers that did help. Someone from Bens office even rang to see how my lift and shift had gone.

If anything I probably went through more pain because I was in PUG than if I wasn't.. simply because I wanted to ensure that I didnt have any unfair advantage.
None of my problems were discussed via PUG. Ironically Ive pushed way harder through PUG for customers but didnt do so when it came to my own connection. iirc the first time it was mentioned within PUG was when someone else brought up that the conditions I were experiencing were abysmal.

I am not a pawn in whatever game it is you are playing. I am a real person with a genuine desire to help people from _all_ ISPs.
I have recently gone through a traumatic period in my personal life and only fairly recently got out of hospital. Therefore I do not intend spending any more time on this forum justifying myself to you or anyone.

What you are doing now surmounts to libel.

------

For the sake of other users of these forums.. I repeat
I have not received any preferential treatment from PlusNet.

In reply to:

In reply to:

Im on Premier which is 30:1 Aside from ellacoya testing Ive never been on either 50:1 (BB+) or 20:1 (Business).

Now I am confused, which is it, you are on 20:1 or you aren't?

Kitz, you were very helpful to me when I was having speed issues and I very much appreciate it.

I`m glad your out of hospital and wish you all the best for the future.

BT contention was 20:1 (they no longer state a ratio) but the internal network contention at PN is 30:1 as per all PN accounts.

kitz, you are over-reacting. I simply informed you that your connection was enhanced by PlusNet in 2004 - presumably without your knowledge. The rest of your filibustering is unwarranted. I'm well aware of the help you give people on the forums and via your website but those things are irrelvant. I'm also sorry to hear about your personal problems - but they too aren't relevant except to you. I don't understand why you seem to think these things are relevant to the specific topic. Nor was there any question of me having committed either a DPA breach or libelled you - all that talk is simply out of proportion and only serves to cloud the issue.

The issue, pure and simple, is that PlusNet enhanced your connection by getting BTw to switch you to a lower contention rate in 2004. Now all manner of things could have changed since then but if this matters so much to you, I suggest you confront PlusNet or BTw about it instead of setting out all the reasons why I shouldn't be accusing you of something that I haven't accused you of!

I'll have the last word

Just lets close this issue and move on - it is like a mountain that has arisen from a molehill, and consuming too much of too many peoples time and effort
