Leaving Entanet (ADSL24) to go where?

[link to this post]

Hi,
Due to the forced changes in off peak times (starting at midnight instead of 22.00hrs) plus terrible speeds on weekends and sometimes during the day, and rubbish tech support on weekends I want to leave ADSL24.
I have searched on here and DSLZone but I'm having a hard time finding a package that suits.

I simply want the package that I'm on now
30GB peak download
300GB off peak
Off Peak hours 22.00 - 08:00hrs and all weekend

No LLU and no long contract. I'm willing to pay more than I am now.

Any ideas?

Only Entanet did those packages.

Are you willing to pay £50+ per month? If so have a look at NewNet, IDNet, and Zen.

Is LLU not available or do you object to the contract lengths?

Can you get Be/O2 on LLU? See http://www.samknows.com/broadband/search...

or do you have/want Sky TV and can you get Sky LLU.

I got put on LLU a few isps back without my knowledge. I only discovered it when I went to change isp and I had to then pay to move isp because of it.

I swore then under no circumstances would I willingly get locked in with an isp on LLU.

No sky and I want to avoid the big names like virgin/bt etc because they like to play big brother I don't trust them.
I'm also still in weekly therapy to get over my aohell trauma.

Is the reason I can't find anything similar because it doesn't exist? I suppose that's what I'm really asking.
I could possibly learn to live with the reduced offpeak if the service would improve.

Nothing similar exists as far as I am aware.

I'm afraid the closest match I can think of is Be LLU (depending on package the initial contract period is either 3 or 12 months),

See https://www.bethere.co.uk/

That would probably have been Tiscali 's wholesale LLU which seduced a few ISPs... It should be obvious with Tiscali involved it was a bad experience for most.

The likes of Be, O2, Sky are meant to be better than that and the migrate back isn't too different/expensive (MAC+£40) unless you go with a Full-LLU supplier like TalkTalk, Sky with phone?, or TIscali. With the Full type you have to get your phone line back BEFORE you can migrate broadband which is expensive & slow.

Thanks for the responses.smile
I think I'll just have to stick with ADSL24/Entanet for the moment then.

Hi annie96,

I'm having the same issues as you, and have now jumped to o2 LLU. No usage cap, promised high speeds and less money. Forum reports say the support is good, although not consistently so. 1GB per month peak hours - and longer peak hours - did not suit, and the jump to the next level is too expensive. My wife is asking "can I use iPlayer?" because we get too close to the limit sometimes. I get a "free" ADSL2+ router too!

Wish me luck.
