13.10 We reserve the right to engage a third party debt collection agency in order to obtain any outstanding debt. Any additional charges generated as a result of this process will be payable by you

Nothing about a 20% charge here either

Do you think 20% is fair. Ian has said that is the current rate but it does seem a little OTT.

To my mind a % is wrong.
To send a letter to a debtor will be standard amount.
to charge 20% on a debt of 220.38 would be 44 pounds.
But if 50 is owed then its 10 pounds. Can't be 34 pounds difference for the same course of action.

I suppose it could be argued that if the 20% figure doesn't appear in the T&C's then the customer hasn't agreed to pay it. It would then be up to the ISP to pursue the matter through the courts.

>My advice to the OP would be to work out what he thinks he reasonably may owe PlusNet..............

Far better for the OP to get clarification on what seems to me to have all the hallmarks of an error before taking any action.

Just a tad sad..a wee bit old...
