Connection problem

[link to this post]

My adsl modem shows that I am sync'd at 7.7 mbit, upstream 448kb, which is great since I only ordered the service on sunday, and its been sync'd since early hours of yesterday!

Only thing is i can't actually connect to plusnet! Modem says CHAP authentication failed. My plusnet page says "broadband awaiting activation" and I still havent got the "activated" email.

What is the format of the username for the service? The welcome guide says it is different to the plusnet account username, but in the member area of the plus net website it says that my broadband username is " usernameichose @ plusdsl.net " and the password is " password i chose".

I have entered these details into the modem software, but it never connects and never gets a connection.

The order tracker says "line awaiting activation" and the estimated date is "27th november after 12pm."

Has my line actually been activated, and if so, why am I unable to connect?!

I would be grateful for any help,

Thanks,

is this a first time Broadband installation... if so BT have probably peaked early so to speak... once PN know its active should be simple enough.. James or another PN peep should be able to advise better than me..

Yeah, this is not a migration, but a complete new line activation.

Give PN a call and tell them that ADSL is now active on your line. They'll activate the account at their end in a couple of minutes. PN's no. is 0114 296 5198

BTW - as far as your username is conerned for your router it's

[email protected]

username = name you log into tthe PN Member Centre with

You need to add the realm (that's the bit after the @) when you enter it into your router.

Your password is the same as the password you use on the Member Centre.

Hi Luc,

Any chance I could have a username or ticket number so that I can look into this for you?

Sounds like I just need to flick a switch

*waves at Luc

Hey mate, I've moved across to PN too, is there a mass exodus underway or something?
