Speed Issues

[link to this post]

Hello All,

I've just upgraded my old 2mb Plus.net package to option 3 upto 8mb. This was completed Yesterday and my router syncs at 7668 (or very close, don't have exact details to hand but its deffo 76xx) However whenever I do a speed test I still get 2mb speeds?!

I know I have a 10 day period but surely if my router syncs at the above speed my connection should also be faster than 2mb, is this correct?

Any help and advice would be great.

Thanks
G

Hi there,

It sounds like your account profile hasn't been uplifted to match the max service, sorry about that. If you PM me your username or phone number I'll get this changed for you.

Unfortunately it's not quite that simple. Once you are syncing at a higher speed it can take 3-5 days for the profile to update in BT's systems, until this happens you won't seen higher speeds than currently. I'd suggest reading James' blog post on speed issues as this may help clear things up.

Looks like Matt was heading more in the correct direction than me, we've updated the profile to correct this and when you reboot your router you should see higher speeds coming through.
