It's that time of year...

It's the time of year when love is in the air. Whether you were overwhelmed with Valentine's Day cards or you didn't get any this year, we care about you all year round, so here's a token of our affection.

Tell your friends about PlusNet Home Phone for an extra pay-out. You'll get an extra 15 for everyone who takes Home Phone Anytime+ on your recommendation, plus 50p a month off your monthly subscription for as long as they keep the product. This means you could get a payment of up to 45 for bringing just one friend to PlusNet.

So help us spread the love all year round by telling your friends about PlusNet.

Would Plusnet stop sending such pap to their existing users. It's sad, annoying and wastes bandwidth (for which we are metered) and clogs up the already slow e-mail service.

Surely this can only be used to target existing users - not much point in making this offer to anyone else

OK so PN don't email it and just put it on their website. 6 months down the line I'd bet you'd be on here posting that you didn't know about the offer and why hadn't they emailed everybody!

I want e-mails relating to important issues. The spam is not important, and it's regular.

Youd like to think so, but unfortunately that isnt the case. I keep receiving marketing emails from Plusnet and I closed my last account with them in July 2006.

So much for their data retention policy and regular purges

Your not getting a lot of sympathy in this thread and I can't blame them for give you a hard time, especially as you can opt out if you click on the link in the email, you get to this

'I would prefer not to receive electronic communications about the special offers, promotions and services available from PlusNet.' tick the box and apply

Then put this into RSS reader, I use google, its easy

http://usertools.plus.net/status/status.xml

and it solves all the problems
