Been with Plusnet a relatively short while and pleased with the download speed (approx 11Mbps) but wondered why the upload speed was so low?
Migrated from BE, were i was getting approx 10Mbps download but 1.1Mbps upload, for 2 years.
Only thing has changed is the change of ISP and newer router (ADSL2).
Do i still have to wait up to 10 days for this to settle, to be honest i cant see that the upload speed will get up to 1Mbps at all
Must be a reason for it, is it restricted on purpose?

What are the router stats and the upload speed you have then?

Doh! Just re-read my post, forgot to add them... upload is around 350kbps, from a doing a few speed tests.
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 445 / 15.106
I understand the above, but not the below...
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 18,7 / 32,5
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 31,6 / 6,6

I think you have to request Plusnet to uncap your upstream sync - if that turns out to be the issue...

For some odd reason Plusnet default the upstream on ADSL2+ to 448, usually ending up just below that like yours.
Raise a ticket to get it raised, though I have a feeling it gets capped at a higher level even then.

It doesn't get capped by Plusnet although I haven't heard of anyone getting much over 1.1Mbps and if the line is interleaved the maximum you can get is 888kbps

I don't think I've seen many over 1.1Mbps connection speed either, on any ISP, including LLU, barring Annex M users.

if the line is interleaved the maximum you can get is 888kbps That's WBC Interleaved for you!
I often get 1.1 - 1.2 Meg Up on Fast Path but only 939 K at the mo' .

The default depends on the type of order, we're actually just starting batches of upload uncapping too.

I thought you'd made uncapped the default some time ago.

I am on ADSL2+ and BT set my line at 1279K upstream (uncapped) but I think it probably not Annex M. I wish I get 2.5Mbps upload (Annex M) but I think it probably charged more (not worth it in my opinion)

IIRC there is 1 path (from our internal system) that still places capped, although as this is well known internally we tend to place the order manually instead.

I migrated in to Plusnet from BT a few weeks ago and my upload went from uncapped to 446kbps on the migration day. I had to ask for it to be uncapped again.

I don't think this has been done yet. I was discussing it with somebody here the other day. So yes, in many situations you'll need to request your upload is uncapped.

Had a new line activated under the John Lewis brand last week which has an upload sync of 443. I've requested it to be uncapped but at the time was told I'd get a maximum of 1Mbps.
Is it just capped at a higher rate or is the potential full upload sync available after requesting an uncap?
I'm assuming there is plenty more to come as Att and SNM are 9 and 32.

Is it just capped at a higher rate It is capped in the sense that it is Asymmetric DSL designed to give a lower Up Sync, usually 888 K on Interleaved or about 1.1 - 1.2 Meg on Fast Path.

I'm sure the raw specs for ADSL2+ would allow faster, so those speeds are the fastest that you can get on a BT 21CN line.

OK thanks.
I'm probably reading too much into what the CS rep told me although I did question his response at the time.
My other line is based on a TTB connection and is capped at 1024 upload which made me wonder.

Well i did raise a ticket last week and the cap did get removed a day later. Thanks Plusnet.
The download speeds have increased to 12 - 13Mbps, and the upload speeds increased to between 1 - 1.1Mbps...
Well chuffed!

Same thing happened to me when I migrated in from O2 this week - so it's still the default

Same happened to me. I'm still waiting. 5 working days have passed. Hopefully the next two working days will bring result, if not, i'm calling them up.
