static IP and rDNS

Hi Folks,
Like most of the human host, I'm thinking of moving to PlusNet's fibre unlimited product. I'm running servers at home, so need a static IP address, and also need my hostname in reverse DNS as well.

So ... assuming that PlusNet really can assign a static IP address (i.e. one that doesn't change or get re-ssigned to someone else -- even in unspecified "rare circumstances") ...

Can they/how does one ask for a host name (i.e. FQDN from customer's domain) to be set up in reverse DNS, so that doing a DNS reverse lookup gets that hostname?

They can give you a static IP address.

To get the rDNS changed you request it through the Help Assistant on the portal. Click Technical Support > Domains & DNS > Change my Reverse DNS configuration.

No problem. I forgot to mention, there is a £5 set-up fee for static IPs on home accounts.

By default you get rDNS of username.plus.com

thanks -- as a professional paranoid, that's a really good reason to set rDNS sharpish if ever there was one.
