Disconnects and subsequent increase in latency

I've noticed 3 disconnects over the past 24hrs and each time, the latency has increased on my line as you can see here

Any ideas what has caused this?

Noise bursts for disconnects and may be interleaving changes or different gateway at Plusnet

Hmm what could be causing noise all of a sudden? Tried disconnecting earlier for 5 mins to try to connect to a different (lower latency) gateway and look what happened

The strange thing is that the connection wasn't being used at all. My PC was off and I have no wireless on my modem so am not sure why the graph looks like the connection was in use!

Edit: just checked thre link I gave above and it was the wrong one - it was for my parents which I was comparing mine too!!

Is this ADSL or FTTC?

I had something similar to this when my boiler became a radio transmitter... my pings went through the roof and had frequent disconnections and slow speeds. I diagnosed that with an AM radio... or perhaps there's a fault on your line! I assume you've done the fault diagnosis stuff with Plusnet?

Have done this morning so just waiting for them to come back to me.

I going to plug it into master socket after work and see what happens. Very much doubt it's my wiring as that's what I do all day long in work!

Nothing new been added in my house but the modem is next to the wall of next door's lounge so am wondering if he has some next electrical equipment next door?

Turn the ADSL modem off and go hunting with a battery AM radio for the noisy stuff

I think I'm gonna have to!!

Is it just a case of going around with no station tuned in (just the static noise) and waiting for the interruptions in the static?
