If there are reduced call costs to the carrier, it's not passed on to the customer
Paying the same as I would if a I had a standard phone line
There is no real advantage to the end user, just a load of grief when trying to get faults fixed as the staff supporting it clearly are not trained on it
I suppose the idea is there will be more features when it becomes a proper retail product - it's still only early to market currently. Then may be any reduction in costs to be passed on to the customer
I've read that BT are going to be starting to install modems that have the battery backup built in - it's quite small and sits quite neatly next to my wall mounted HG612
