Our next door neighbour has been looking in to getting FTTC and we suggested she tries PlusNet. She investigated this but was told that PlusNet FTTC was not available in the area despite the fact we have it.
Anyone suggest why she was told this given that we are right next door to each other?

What does the BT wholesale checker say for the two properties, i.e full address or telephone number. Two properties need not be connected to the same cabinet

Next door's telephone number gives
There is no data available for this number. This could be either because it is not a BT line or it is a new BT number that has just been provided. Most new numbers will appear on the checker 24 hours after BT has installed the line.
Thinking about it they are with Sky so that might be the issue. If you use the postcode checker it gives

You are correct that a Sky number will not show up.
But do not use the postcode checker. A postcode can be served by more than one cabinet and the postcode checker can't handle that. You must use the address checker option, as MrSaffron requested .
Edit: Also, do yours as well. As he suggested. It could be your cabinet is full, which will be why he asked for that.

You've twice been asked what http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/ADSLChecker.Addres... says for your neighbour. If you don't post the information people request I don't see how people can help (or the point of you posting requesting help).

I guess the cabinet in temporarily out of capacity
|
|
|
Is that the same cabinet number as you are on? If it is then capacity is almost certainly the reason.

If it is then capacity is almost certainly the reason.
I would have also expected to show an availability date of May 14th for the OP own line checks, but it would appear his own line appears to show it available now.
We do see weird things like all the time, I would agree capacity is the blame, though I would also put some weird database issues in the mix too.

I don't want to assume whether this might be capacity or a records issue without seeing the details relating to this.
ConorMK feel free to PM me with the details or advise your neighbour to do so if they can.
