connection gone down

[link to this post]

Seems my connection has gone down and the support queue is showing 34.95 calls waiting. Any ideas what's going on?

Same here, lost it at about 18.00. The support line is saying there has been a "major servIce incident" but there's nothing on the status page about it yet.

Ok found this http://usertools.plus.net/status/archive/1410974685.htm

172 on the LAN side?
Is your router not getting an external IP?

I should have thought the major incident message would be enough to put most people off.

Mine has been down for about half an hour, Harpenden. Seems like a big problem.

Phone lines are full, the fault checker is failing and the status page shows nothing. Hmm, bit disappointing really!

Meanwhile, over on the Community forum, Linn Karstrom has just posted:

Can we please request that you power down your routers/modems and not attempt to re-connect for another 1-2 hours? We'll post updates to the service status as soon as we have any.

Good advice via Twitter from ThinkBroadband (as always...)

Large volume of PlusNet customers with no broadband http://usertools.plus.net/status/archive/1410974685.htm Advice switch router off, go have dinner and switch back on.

Problem is, I suspect there's a good few people who can't eat dinner without the internet...
