Perhaps someone from PN would like to give us the correct DAY the maintenance is likely to happen???

A job to defend that, but some will. One T-shirt enough for me.

I wonder if its just going to be a mass kick of users to rebalance.
Sort of reminds me of the old days on NTL where they were announcing weekly maintenance in leics which was a rebalance of the UBR channels since they wouldnt do actual upgrades (heads stuck in sand insisting rebalancing was sufficient).

(I didn't spot the day/date differences in the email, LOL).
I'm hoping it is either or both an upgrade to gateway firmware to make them work with IPv6, or to improve throughput, as the user-balance looks to be fine.

Nothing on the gateways has anything to do with G.INP - that's totally about the connection between the modem and the cabinet!

well they have said on the forums more bandwidth got ordered so hopefully its related to that, they may also have discovered a config issue affecting performance, so could be anything reall.y
I agree also about fixing the ipv6 situation.

Well I've been on ptw-bng01 for 6 days now (my fault my connection dropped - I overfilled the kettle and tripped the power). I resisted my long standing habit of hopping until I get off the 'bng's' and I'm still getting steady speeds and reasonable latency so at the moment I'm a happy bunny
My speed test a short time ago.

They ain't going to fix what has been causing these issue with Jitter and Increased latency by more than 6x the normal base latency or the really poor throughput in 1 hr, this will sadly be routine maintenance nothing is going to change

How long does a firmware update take?
How long is a piece of string,?( probs about 20mins or less ) but a firmware update to one gateway isn't going to change anything regarding the issues we have been seeing especially tonight

Planned BT Broadband Network Maintenance - Week commencing 13th April 2015
10/04/2015 @ 16:12
When is this work happening?
Overnight throughout the week.
What does it affect?
Broadband connectivity.
How long will it take?
Up to six hours each time.
What does the work involve?
We've received notifications from our suppliers about maintenance work that is scheduled to take place in the following areas this week. This work typically takes place between midnight and 6am.
This is more likely to have an impact on speeds. Possibly more capacity being added?
The gateways aren't the capacity as such, that's more the WBMC nodes.
so has anything changed?
I didnt get kicked.
I didn't get kicked either & my STD was one of those to be affected.

Zero improvement here, but there again i didn't expect that there would be
Possibly coincidental, but at about 10:30 my ADSL line became effectively unusable with 40% packet loss, persisting until I rebooted my router. Dropping the PPPoA connection resulted in failure to reconnect.

I haven't noticed anything myself but the useage graphs look as if it was a bad night last night especially 10pm-11pm. Never seen a complete blank in traffic before.
I'm OK on ptw-bng01 at the moment but ptn-bng01 looks 'troubled' with 0 connections 15 minutes ago and now showing nearly 364K.

Still issues with certain gateways as the BQM is very loud and excited to what it was a week or two ago.
