Anyone completely offline?

[link to this post]

Is anyone else totally offline at moment? My speeds went through the floor earlier with the BT tap3 tester telling me my line is underperforming and now i have nothing. I currently have an open ticket with Plusnet about poor performance and intermittent line noise but wondered if tonight's problems were seen by anyone else?

I've seen some issues on my BQM and I've had a couple of impacted speedtests but not anything terrible.. I've noticed somebody on Plusnet's from who BQM also went dead after some considerable Packet Loss...

I think somethings going on anyway!

Hmmmm. Speed test.

That's wireless, next to the router, as this laptop doesn't have Ethernet. I've turned on the one next to the router which is wired to it, so will try with that in a few minutes.

BQM IPv4 in my sig doesn't look good either. The IPv6 one is disabled. I haven't caused that red stuff.

Nothing showing on their MSIL and Gateway graphs. Nothing in AAISP BT Incidents blog.

Edit - Wired test.

Have peeked at speed test stats and some people are still putting in good FTTC speeds, so if there are problems it is looking most likely to be gateway/regional based.

Mine isn't showing latency effects. Did some gateway hopping but think I've ended up at my starting point, ptw-bng01.

Take a look at the bngs though. Three possibly nearly full, one heavily loaded, and four very light. But in several hops with waits I only ever got to a heavy or fullish one.

The system seems to be very imbalanced, as though they'd partially closed down some or stopped anyone logging into them after a disconnection.

Now an amazing test.

My latency is ok again now was just intermittent and unusual..

Yes I looked at gateways earlier and agree the way they level out is quiet interesting but IO've been hearing many people talking about keep getting kicked from likes of PTN's...

Fingers crossed I will be staying on PTN-BNG02 for as long as possible.. they are quiet good to me, anything else is questionable.

Wish I could say the same - BQM although my speeds are what I usually see at around 37-8mpbs and 5.5-6mbps.

At the mo I'm on pcl-bng02 which is showing over 80K connections whilst the lowest pcl-ag02 has 18.7K. Wonder what the maximum/optimum loading is for the different gateways?

Well your gateway "PCL-BNG02" is maxed out at 80.43k connections,

I'm connected to "PTN-BNG02" is also maxed out at 31.01k connections... My connection seems to be ok though was a bit sensitive last night!

The max number of connections on various gateways can be found here

I don't think that the maximum number of connections is the limit rather it is the maximum seen over a specific time frame

I agree, It's just an indication that there busy really, I can confirm that my connection is bit more sensitive to heavy usage currently... wether this is due to potential heavy load on the gateway.

I think everyone concerned is waiting until tomorrow to see if the problem has been solved before starting another thread. (Edit 2: Or reeling in shock!)

The instruction to make sure you report it to Plusnet if you have problems either means either they think it is fixed, (unlikely), or is one of the crassest thread-locking messages I have ever seen on any forum.
Edit - improved wording.
