Re: How are plusnet

I have been with Plusnet for a few years now and the speeds have been decreasing and over the last couple of weeks I have experienced continuous drop outs of the connection. The support guy's are trying to help but work off a script so gone through switch the router off and on, change the router, micro-filter and plug in to the test socket but now need to send an engineer although there is no problem making phone calls and no noise on the line.

Thinking of moving away but as everyone says their pricing is competitive.

If there are regular drop outs, and these occur even in the test socket, you have a line fault and need an engineer to visit (assuming router & your own PC has been ruled out as being faulty).

Dropouts such as this are not normal and the ISP is not deliberately causing them. The majority of customers will have a connection that is drop-out free.

Noise on the line can be an indicator of a line fault, but it is just that, an indicator, often is the case a fault develops on the broadband side and does not affect the voice side.
