Thanks for the reply matt

ive tried both routers yesterday when i was having issues and both routers picked up on the same things apart from 1 thing... my asus router got 75% packet loss and the Technicolor TG582n no packet loss but i still had speed issues. Then from 11.30pm last night my speeds improved and my pings dropped while connected to the Technicolor TG582n.
So i switched the asus router back over and my speeds and pings were fine again too... i think i stopped gaming about 3pm and all was fine.
Today im running futher pingplotter tests 1 hour on each router too see if this shows anything, 20 mins into pingplotter and my asus router shows no packet loss but im getting 80% loss on my 3rd hop this > 129.hiper04.sheff.dial.plus.net.uk
Btw i did try that BQM but it seams to crash on my windows 10 after downloading the latest verison so i removed it.
