Line sync.

I have recently upgraded from a Thomson Router to a Draytek 2820n.I am with Plusnet ADSL2+ and reliability of the Thompson router ( I have had three failures with Plusnet and BE in the last three years) made me decide to purchase rather than use the standard router.

 However I did this at a time when my BB had just failed due to a line fault which has caused BT to drop my profile to ~4Mb/s from 9Mb/s previously.

Since they have rectified the problem - and I left the Thomson originally connected just for support reasons, I notice that my sync rate on the Thompson had increased to ~16Mb/s (though rate remained at 4Mb/s but with a higher s/n ratio of 21 (up from around 10)

But I cannot find out how to detect the sync rate of the 2820.

I looked in CLI via Telnet and there is an indication of the DS max rate but this is only ~6Mb - much lower than the Thomson.

Can anyone help me understand how I can find the sync rate

Also does anyone know if I can speed up the profile update after the line issues or do I have to wait?

If you post some means of us identifying your account (username/ticket reference or something like that), then we can run a test remotely from here to determine what your sync rate is?

I ran speed test with the Draytek connected and here are BT speedtest results:

Download speed achieved during the test was - 3120 Kbps

However at the last connection, the stats were

I cannot work out if the Attainable Rate is based on the sync rate? I have heard the Draytek sync slightly lower than others, but ~5Mbps vs ~17Mbps is an enormous difference and It is consistent

These are significantly better than before BT looked at the line, as the max down was around 10kbps.

Question is until the line starts to sync higher, I cannot tell if there is an issue so the sooner it gets reset the better.

So not much difference

There is a fair chance that you line has been banded because of instability.
If this is the case a ticket may be the answer unless Bob helps

Yep the line was banded, although it looks like the banding has since been removed. @ismoore999, I've just added some further comments to your support ticket. Give me a nudge here if you need anything else.
