Technicolor tg582n Firmware

I see Plusnet have a later firmware release version in demo (dated April this year).

Also, what differences between the r10.2.0.B and the 8.4.4.J

I noticed that my first hop pings are high, and apparently this is a reporting issue, rather than a slow hop, and that the firmware upgrade fixes it. Any other fixes / advantages?

I wasn't aware of that being changed as every Thomson router I have had has had the high first hop because of the low priority given to that request in the router firmware

This seems to be firmware related.

On the 8.4.5.C firmware on TG582n the first hop pings on my tracert would look just like yours.

On the 10.2.0.B firmware it looks like this:
Wireles:

1 1 ms 2 ms 2 ms dsldevice.lan [10.0.0.138]

Ethernet:

1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms dsldevice.lan [10.0.0.138]

If there was something wrong on previous firmwares then it has been fixed on the newest firmware.

I don't know.

I installed this router for my 21CN upgrade, and it defaulted to DCHP for my PC. I never used DHCP on my last setup, preferring to set the NAT addressing myself.

My PC's IP addy is 192.168.x.x along with the DHCP, however my default gateway is 195.166.x.x (which bears no relation to my external IP addy). I presume there's bridging going on, but my old setup was very simple, and frankly I don't want to fiddle for little gain.
