I don't pay by DD at the moment, and I don't want to.
(Yes, I know I'm paying extra for the privilege, which I disagree with, but I still don't want DD).
I am trying to change my broadband products, including adding phone, but the automated online process insists I complete a direct debit mandate.
In addition, the amount of the DD is wrong as well, because I don't want to pay the line rental monthly, but to take advantage of the discount for paying up-front.
I raised a question about this latter point, and am told I can only do the line rental saver after I've already placed the order. Is this right? It seems odd to have to sign-up for the monthly payments I know I don't want, before I'm allowed to switch to the one-off payment I DO want.
Help, please.

I know it's considered bad form to "bump" one's own post, but can anyone at PN assist with this please? I need to place the order by the end of the week, if I'm to secure the pre-increase rental tariff, so the clock is ticking...
Thanks,
Tina

Unless it's inconvenient I'd call their 0800 support number, at least if you have no answer by 1800 today, as time is short...

I would expect any option to pay by any of the "non automatic" processes would only be available if ordering by the archaic "over the phone" process?
This would normally prevent you from taking advantage of some of the special offers but the ISPs sensibly want people to pay by the cheapest and most reliable means for them which does keep prices down.
BT Infinity 2 - IP profile 77 / 20 - super fast!
Previously BE Unlimited - 21,000 Download 1,200 Upload but then moved house - 6,500 Down, 1Mb/s up - gutted!

Hi TLM,
We do require a direct debit to be setup when adding our home phone service, I'd suggest the best way to do this is to enter your details and once this is done I can cancel the direct debit instruction and take a manually payment for the line rental saver.
Let me know if you would like to go ahead with this.

The only ISP I know that lets you pay for Broadband and phone services over the likes of the Post Office counter, with no penalty for not taking Direct Debit is the Post Office.

I don't want to pay at the Post Office counter, thanks. I just want to continue paying by cc - which is what I already do with PN, so slightly odd that I cannot tweak or add stuff without changing my existing payment method.

Chris,
If you're about, I have pm'ed you.
If Chris is not frequenting the boards today, can any of his colleagues please help?
I have set up a direct debit, but now need it cancelled, and to make the one-off line-rental payment manually. This needs to happen by Sunday, otherwise I will get hit by the higher price - and I'm not sure what PN service is like on a weekend, and whether anyone will do it for me.
Thanks,
Tina
