The IP Profile will automatically rise to 6500kbps. But it could easily be three or four days before it does. Then you have to hope the Plusnet one updates as well, which normally happens within hours of the BT one.

Just updating that my IP profile is now set at 6 Mbps and my download speeds are very close to that which I am happy with. Customer support on the Plusnet community forums has been great, I am very impressed.

So has your connection speed dropped?

Yes it has. they did a second SNR reset on monday and it synced at 8128 Kbps but it has now dropped to 7648 Kbps, noise it slightly higher at 7 db. I will keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn�t drop more. I usually get 5.7-5.9 mbps in speed test which seems good for my line.

Well my sync speed and noise has stayed the same and the IP profile has now increased to 6.5 mbps. Did a speed test earlier and got 6.4 mbps

Based on the line stats do you think this is more or less the maximum achievable? Seems good to me as I do not think I have got a speed that high before and the BT estimate is 5.5 mb.

Good Lord! Do you still have to pick up the handset and wind a handle to get the operator to connect you for phone calls?

But back to the basic question - yes, the speed you have now is about as good as you are going to get.
