The install went through ok, got up and running fast, OR guy came around 12:15pm did his stuff, and when it came to getting online, was there in no time. Said in plusnet manual leave it 15mins i left it 5mins and tried google and i was in.

Did speedtest got 73up 16 down and happy on that one

But i'm having a problem with port forwarding of ident, anyone got some insight on that giving me a headache frown

I take it, in Tools in your router, in Game & Application Sharing, going to 'Create a New Game or Application', you have created one called ident, and given it port 113 TCP. Once done that, assign that newly created ident to your inside/private IP address, ie address of the host where you'd like ident to be applied.

I assume you mean your account page on their web site...?
Do they require notice (eg 30 days) and if so, did you give that to them explicitly?
When I left Zen they only charged me up to the date of my migration.
When I left BE I had to give them 30 days notice, which I did on the day I requested my MAC. They then charged me for 30 days from that date.
Someone who recently moved from Sky to Plusnet had a problem with Sky telling them (after migration) that they still hadn't given notice and would continue to be charged (very cheeky!).

Openreach are supposed to tell the losing ISP that a migration away has completed. But that can fail, so it is always wise to ring the old ISP and confirm they are aware.

As to whether you need(ed) to give notice independent of the MAC being requested and used, that's down to the individual T & Cs of the ISP. You need to check those, or ask them.
