wireless router

Hi All
Can anyone tell me the make of ADSL wireless router PlusNet currently supply and what opinions are of it. More especially how it might perform compared to Draytek 2820n.

Current speeds are approx 9Mbps down and 0.38 up with SNR of 8 and attenuation of 36.

It's a Technicolor TG582N. Reasonable on the ADSL side but I had a number of issues with wireless & remote access/NAT.

I've changed to a Draytek 2850 which gave me a better downstream sync.

You mean for ADSL2+, or FTTC?

Same router with modified firmware, and the FTTC one has a USB port which I don't think the ADSL2+ one does.

My 582n is back in its box in the cupboard. It just would not keep a wifi connection with an Android phone. Wonder if there is a firmware upgrade?

Have you asked for you upload to be uncapped?

Latest firmware is 10.2.2.B

For ADSL 10.2.2.B is available - but it's not fully released. There's quite a few of us using it.

It could be one of the advanced settings for WiFi on the Android phones.

I had the same problem. Mine has a "WiFi Sleep Policy" setting.

I'm using mine now while I decide what to do. (My Buffalo seems to have gone wonky).

No problem connecting with a Galaxy SIII, and wireless appears OK so far on my new laptop, where it was poor on my previous one. That's confusing .

Only ask as I have Sony, Samsung, Huawei and Vodafone Android mobiles, plus an Android TV plug-in (HDMI port) and Achos tablet, all using wireless, all on all day every day... (plus an Acer running linux, a few iMacs, and Dell, Gateway and Tosh laptops running Win XP or Win 7,) all sharing the same connection from Plus.Net.

HTC Wildfire. It is rock solid with an older 585v7 and everywhere else I go with it. Not only did it keep dropping the connection with a 582n I had to keep entering the password every time too!
