Re: ordering plusnet before we move in to the property?

There may even be a PSTN cease order on it. If there is, I don't think anything can be done until that completes.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 53.4/16.8Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

this is what we'll be doing, however I may have been a bit misleading with my OP. When I check on the plusnet website, during the ordering stages after entering the postcode it says

We've found a working phone line at your property

You've told us that you don't have a phone number but our checks show that there is a working phone line at your property."

Of course I took working phone line to mean currently subscribed phone line, however I'm now lead to believe this may not be the case, it means something else? How would I know the difference? If it just means there's a line I can use, there's no 'notifying the current bill payer' issues or anything like that, is there?

As I say, there's no tenant currently living there so it would seem odd that a line rental would still be being paid for.

I see. They make this all so [censored] confusing - "we've found a working line at your address" is incredibly ambiguous. I think I'm just gonna go ahead and attempt an online order and see if it's accepted or not.

Thanks for your help people.

If you have access to the property it would be interesting to check the line. Does it have a dial tone? Does it tell you the number if you dial 17070? Can you ring that number?
