Please check error stats before I jump from O2

Bearing in mind BT's DLM check line errors as well, could my the experts look at my O2 stats and see if all looks OK. Thanks, got MAC today so still deciding. (It is ADSL1 on O2 LLU, not BTw)

Those stats say that you have FEC turned on, so we should assume that interleaving is turned on too.

There is a heavy number of line errors that are being caught by the FEC/interleaving process ( about 500,000 per hour), so you should expect that BT's DLM is going to intervene and turn on FEC/interleaving too.

Of those FEC (corrected) errors, 2,400 were bad enough to become CRC errors, or about 13 an hour. That would be an acceptable rate, if it happens gradually.

So, if the stats you have presented represent the state over the entire 7 day period (ie all the stats accumulate at roughly the same rate all the time), then you should expect BT's DLM to turn on FEC/interleaving, and have no other problems.

However, the real problem caused by BT's DLM comes when line conditions vary considerably hour-by-hour, or across the day. So if your statistics spend 72 hours without change, and then go haywire for 15 minutes, you'll have more problems.

From a single snapshot, it is impossible to tell which case applies.

You probably would have got a quicker answer if you posted in the O2 forum!

Anyhow, there's nothing to be concerned with regarding your stats as the major error indicators are all zero (LOF, LOS, LOP) and the error seconds are low.

Also, the Speedtouch routers are notorious for over reporting FEC errors so nothing to worry about there either.

Thought I'd do better posting here as LLU with no DLM like O2 not being concerned with errors, as if I go with PN its the DLM. Only sussed about DLM errors correction/sync by going on PN's own forum, which of course you can't post on unless you are with them. cheers

Thats 69 FEC down in 5 mins, did see somwhere else the thomsom routers misread errors.
Will post back about 9.30 this am FWIW, all good clean line, Clarity faceplate. cat5 to router LAN socket, stable connection no thruput issues, just concerned about BT's/PN DLM. Most resyncs due to 2 second mains glitches, will get UPS if I go on a BT system so's not to upset DLM..
