No - Plusnet come under the BT Consumer umbrella, as does BT Retail. Plusnet is run as a completely separate company.

But since they are both part of BT Group, Plusnet may be offered BT Sport on favourable terms.

I doubt they can be too favourable otherwise negotiations will become difficult with Virgin Media and Sky.

I can understand people hoping for free BT sport due to the link between PlusNet and BT, but I would be very surprised unless it was tied into a new TV based product too that had other revenue increasing options.

That's like saying that the latest whizzy feature on an Audi should also be made available for customers with a VW or Skoda. Just because a company is part of the same group doesn't necessarily imply that there's a business relationship between them. In fact, in many cases, the owner of the group will deliberately set their businesses apart, with different product sets, to target different markets.

I really don't hold with all the 'BT Retail have got BT Sport so why shouldn't Plusnet' arguments. If you want BT Sport, move your service to BT Retail and have done with it!

Not "should be", but "can be". Whether or not they do is a business decision within BT.

Virgin Media is nothing to do with BT and they offer it.

It is all about coming to an agreement to offer it to customers.

I'm not questioning it could be offered. It wouldn't be free though

Its the often spouted, because they're owned by BT arguments i question...

Which is the point I was making

Even if Plusnet paid "full rate" for BT Sport, it's just money going from one pot in BT Group to another. And I don't think BT and Plusnet are viewed as very different entities within BT, after all, they lump both BT and Plusnet subscribers into one figure within their company accounts.
