It's very unusual for you not to be 100% right smile. (And anyway, you did include that it might have changed).

BT don't have a great record for integrity when it comes to retentions. When I wanted to migrate the phone to PN, they (BT) tried to put me off by saying it was unlikely I'd be able to keep the same number.

PN had already reassured me it was rare they couldn't do this, and that they would always check before going ahead anyway, so I'd have the chance to stop it if I couldn't keep the number.

So I told BT: "Well, thank you, but I don't believe that's going to be an issue."

It wasn't. Made a seamless transition, keeping the same number. Complete scaremongering by BT, to make people think it will cause problems to move.
