I therefore took his question to be about the two DLMs affecting his connection.
In any case, you are wrong. Sky have no control of the sync or SNR on FTTC. Nor of the SNRM which I expect you meant when you referred to SNR. They will have access to the
Super stable, (if that is it's correct name), Openreach setting. That would cause a lower initial sync, but nothing as dramatic as the 4Mbps they use on their LLU ADSL2+.
