running wifi analyzer on my phone in my very congested area shows.

9 routers on channel 1

4 on channel 6

2 on channel 11

and I think a guy manually configured his router as one is on channel 8.

mine is on channel 13 manually configured.

very congested 2.4ghz but I am the only one on the 5ghz band.

Mildly related question - a friend's got an old Home Hub 2 somewhere in his messy attic space, which I could have. Is it worth his/my effort to try and dig it out and give it a go, instead of the TG582n? (Am on Plusnet FTTC.)

I don't know I'm afraid.

Considering they seem to bring out a new model more frequently than every 12 months, I expect it's a bit ropey.

The 582n is fine except the wireless isn't brilliant. Most people wouldn't notice that. It works.

Depends on the model of HH2 - I think the B variant has the BT Infinity port, which would connect OK to the OR modem.
