Curious why you unhappy with sky? As they backed down on static ip's and end user equipment.

I noticed sky adopted BE's attitude in that on sky's forums ex BE customers have their own private section which is censored off from the rest of the internet. So its hard to see what they discussing etc.

Thanks Andy

Seems little point in contacting Linn with the information then

Guess I'll have to take the other route and see what BT can offer in terms of retention deals or similar and then wait another 12 months for some other ISP to start doing it

Not a huge problem - was merely wondering what options I had

Seeing as (I think) it's the same Linn who should have been aware from my "Alert" post in the Community forums:-
I think this poster on thinkbroadband could do with a Digital Care rep replying smile.

Note - she wants the phone to remain on fibre as well.
that you were on FVA, I should send her the details. It could be you could be taken on as an FVA trial. I don't see how anything other than billing can be involved, seeing as it's BTW actually handling it!

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 58.7/14.6Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

Higher price due to not having Sky TV or Sky Talk
Distinct lack of communication regarding migration which includes not having received any info re: the above and migration date
Lower upstream and downstream
Poor performance particularly when streaming - something we do for several hours every day here
Weirdness with downstream throughput
Higher pings
Higher upstream SNR margin
No Freephone number for support
Support not 24/7
People being told they need a Skyhub for whatever reason and then finding themselves on a 12 month contract - I didn't fall for that one, but a few appeared to have done
DLM
No line profile customisation

Yes, I got the static IP as I had with BE - appears to have geo-location type issues though

And I just really cannot see the point of having 9Mb on ADSL when I have 100Mb as well - it just seems illogical

High likelihood I'll probably still do it, as nothing to lose - just thought it seemed a bit misleading after the response to Andy on the PN forums

Just really wary at this point of all the problems I've had so far and knowing my lunch I'll end up in a mess again

Agree it will probably be systems that are the obstacle

Could be an interesting experiment for PlusNet if they were up to a challenge - number not recognised by any checker for a start. My actual number is an ONT circuit

The two threads in the PN forums might not have been noticed as being related.

The DG team basically work Mon-Fri. Sometimes pop in at the weekend. About to PM you.

I'm sure a trial could be a possibility, but I don't think they would be particularly interested as you're probably talking a handful of customers.

I would imagine the work that has to go in to getting all the ordering/provisioning/billing systems compatible with FVA (not to mention staff training) outweighs the benefits of attracting a very limited number of customers.

I do hope this year that Plusnet fully launch FTTP with the speed variants up to 330/30. I think the limited number of customers has meant it's been placed on the back burner for the moment as there are more pressing things they want to focus on.

sky's website claims they added line profiles that can be controlled by end user? I take it they lied then?

no wonder they censored the forum.
