I'm on Sky Broadband Unlimited Pro

Never ventured into the Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro section as little point as I'm not on fibre with Sky

I'm sure I saw someone from Support post that this was only available to those migrating across from BE

Now able to make and receive calls again

Engineer had been booked today for Friday

Got home and before trying another phone borrowed from work, did another power cycle leaving for a bit longer this time, all works fine again

No idea what the root cause was - possibly something b0rked after an update

Sorry, late to the thread ....

Is the photo you linked to of your kit whilst there was a fault ? Looks like the 'fault' (middle) light is showing on the BBU, and no power or PON light on the ONTE ?

Have fitted a couple of Plusnet FTTP circuits, and neither had an associated FVA service.

No, the photo was taken just after installation nearly 2 years ago

At that point, the service had not been activated

During the 2 weeks of the fault, the lights remained as they should be indicating no issue

Power cycled several times and still no dial tone and no incoming out outgoing calls.

Sometime between 28th and 29th something was fixed

I power cycled Monday night and still nothing. I was going to try a 3rd phone handset borrowed from work on Tuesday night. I did another power cycle beforehand and all came back to life

All BT can tell me is that it might have been something at the exchange i.e. line card but they have nothing to confirm this

Ah, I see, smile

There does seem to be a few of these which just will not rock and roll on installation. The cause is never fully explained to the poor sod ringing round trying to find the cure frown

It was installed nearly 2 years ago in June 2012

The only issues I've had have been fairly minor until now

- line is quite quiet on calls compared to my other copper line
- Time on BT Relate 2100 goes out by an hour
- Choose to Refuse did not work. It was cancelled by BT and I needed to save money so have not been bothered although I do miss it

If I did not know I had it, I would not notice it was not a copper line particularly on cost as that is the same

Then this fault that started on 15th April

BT Exeter did say they'd had a handful of issues related to line cards that were unexplained. They're still collecting data and feedback though as it's still early market deployment and technically still under trial

It did make me laugh that they told me I'd be put through to them if I dialled 151 from the FVA line. Not much good if you cannot make calls though
