Yesterday, I received a Brightbox 2 in advance of an upgrade to FTTC, with EE/Orange.

On the outer "slip" cover-
"
FRAGILE
PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME OUTSIDE!

IF MY NEW OWNER IS NOT AT HOME
JUST POST ME THROUGH THE
LETTERBOX
"
Where-as the BB1 came in a padded envelope and passed through the Letterbox without any problems, this BB2 is slightly thicker, say 3 mm (1/8th inch) and about 50% longer, in a significant cardboard box, with the outer wrapper, so would not pass through the slot.

The main problem is the increased thickness, a band across the top-middle, that has the various warning LEDs mounted in it.

Seems a decided backward step.

Real broadband at last!

FTTC? Possibly, to some. Still susceptible to problems such as cross-talk and REIN.

Nothing like a bit of FTTP smile
