12/18 Month Contract Question

Hi there,

I was reading today about minimum-term contracts between BT and ISPs are now cut from one year to one month. I have a question about it in particular the migration of a Fibre service with Plusnet, if anyone could assist?

I'm moving house late July and wanting to take my broadband with me, the new place has fibre so I will bring that across. However typically you get put back onto an 18 month contract, my 18 months is up in August. I want to transfer my service but not tie down for another 18 months, with this new ruling am I offered a bit more flexibility now from Plusnet?

probably not, ofcom havent enforced anything regarding contracts on the retail side, so retailers are free to still be anti competitive with contract lengths.

also a house move isnt a migration.
