Decided to move, going over on the 16th of July, my reasons are cost, it's cheaper on PlusNet for caller display (99p a month compared to BT at £1-70, plus I bought a new BT phone, the BT 7600 which if caller display is active, stops all telemarketing, and other unwanted calls) but even though I had caller display, BT pulled it without telling me, and wanted a new 12 month contract to add it back?
So, PlusNet here I come.

I was thinking that you were feeling in a jovial mood, therefore seeing the funny side of comments even when not meant.

All done, and very smooth it all went, got my caller display added to my services, so my anti-telemarketing landline phone stops all the [censored] calls from reaching me.

The line sounds clearer too now on voice calls, added bonus.

I think that must be psychological because nothing that would make a difference to the clarity of the voice calls will have changed.
