Moving from TalkTalk to Plusnet

Hi all

i am wanting to move from TalkTalk (LLU) to Plusnet

How do i go about this:

Do i need a mac key?

Do i need to tell TT i am leaving or just sign up with Plusnet?

Do i tell TT i want to cancel, but obviously i dont want to have down time or loose my land line number ?

Sorry for all the questions, i just find it a bit confusing

You will need a MAC,
Remember that asking for a MAC is not equivalent to telling the from company you are cancelling.
When you have decided to switch and got things ready with PlusNet, inform TalkTalk to make sure they are aware.

I'm not sure what the situation is that might cause loss of landline number, I'd be pleased if anyone could clarify that (I don't want to lose the number we have had for 35 years).

i assume the process from LLU to a BT Wholesale provider is different from a BT Wholesale provider to another BT Wholesale provider?

Can Plusnet please clarify the situation

If it is full LLU then there is NO WAY for TalkTalk to generate a MAC. Our guide is correct.

do PN do sim provides when ordering from their website ?

is there usually any downtime?

So PN guide when wanting to move to them is totally useless if your on a full LLU connection?

After you have moved tell TT and ask to settle your final bill.

You probably need to give TT sufficient notice beforehand so as to time it right.

Wasn't Ofcom going to change this as it seems full-LLU providers are at a disadvantage? I thought the MAC process would be used, but the MAC key issued would show the difference? (ie, openreach would still be doing the work, and would know what to do).
