You're probably aware that only a few days ago he was offering his services to PlusNet Support to try and reduce the call waiting times - I'm pretty sure he'd have the opposite effect.

And he wanted a house in Sheffield/Leeds thrown in!

A providers choice, and some may decide the credit check is too risky for example and say no.

No technical reason if you have two telephone lines into a property. Of course no way of knowing what the state of play for the actual telephone line coming into your property is like, but most usually support two pairs.

The USO only applies to the first telephone line to a property and when ordering a second if more work is needed Openreach are free to bill at cost.

Original refusal was probably down to confusion, and someone thinking you meant can I have a second FTTC line over the existing telephone pair coming into the property. Or a business choice by PlusNet to not offer to you even.

Plusnet say 2 x FTTC not available to residential order as Openreach would rejected it on the order to the customer at the same account/household address. But, 2 lines or more lines yes but 2 x FTTC - NO!

Well obviously I have a magic FTTC connection, as got two here and know others who have too.

Now if you are talking exact same billing name, and exact same bank account then can understand the PlusNet system having problems.

Yes ex-BTEngineer can do the work. Proof here: http://www.exbtengineers.com/

Just to confirm what others have said, all the guy on the linked site can do is internal wiring stuff.

I see he'll charge you £50 to prove that a fault is outside your property .......... sheesh, money for old rope.

IDNet first and then ordered a few weeks later once the IDNet was up and running was Sky - nothing magic about them at all.

I used to be with IDNet best isp at that time before but still expensive for FTTC. As for Sky - I will never go to Sky!
