Setting up your own router for Plusnet Fibre Extra

All being well, BT Openreach visit after midday tomorrow and we move over to Fibre. Thing is: I've received the router from Plusnet but don't want to use it. I would rather use my trusty Billion 7800n instead. It's the only router I've owned in ten years that's capable of delivering wireless to the entire house. But I can't find a setup guide anywhere. Help?

I saw that but I thought it couldn't be right because it's so minimalistic. Bear in mind I've never used Fibre before. When I put the router in EWAN/PPoE mode, I have these options. Do any of them matter?

ETA: Never mind. I finally found more specific instructions on the Plusnet forum.

Those look OK presuming you want to continue using Google's DNS.

Username is your [email protected] ID and password is your plusnet password.

NAT you need to enable. Service name you leave blank. Obtain DNS you should either have enabled automatic, or entered your preferred replacement. Using non ISP DNS can make some sites slow (e.g. those that use Content Distribution Networks such as Akamai, such as Google, Netflix, Apple etc).

Connection is Always on, MTU is 1500. Everything else off, and IPv6 hopefully eventually.

I didn't go for the plusnet router and use my own ASUS RT-AC68U instead

Isp list: ADSL_BT
PVC: 0/38
Connection Type: PPPoE
Encapsulation Mode: VCMUX
L2 Interface Type: VDSL2
Enable Vlan: Enabled
VID: (1-4094): 101
PPPoE or PPPoA: PPPoE

with plusnet username and password
