Re: Plusnet to Virgin - £30 Line cancellation charge ?

Where in the Member Centre please? I can't see any reference in my Account Details.

Ah - in Order History. I think you will find that when your 18-months minimum term ends, that line will be marked "Expired" and one with the £30 Cessation charge added.

Presumably because if you leave within the minimum term various other charges are levied.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 56.4/14.5Mbps @ 600m. - IPv4BQM IPv6BQM

Keep the phone line with plusnet and go for virgin media broadband stand alone instead! So, you won't be charged then! Job done! Remember the phone line price will increasing to £16.99 with virgin media later this month 24th November.

I don't think Plusnet will allow for just a phone line without broadband, also do you have any proof that Virgin are increasing there Line Rental and that Plusnet won't..

Also £30 one off is a lot cheaper than keeping a line that's not required or even having it bundled with another service/s.

Ask Plusnet if there's still a charge if you transfer your number to Virgin Media (If you want a Line of course)

I remember reading that transferring your services means no charge (not sure if this will apply to Virgin though as a MAC will not be used)

It's a broadband cease charge. Nothing whatsoever to do with line rental.

Plusnet do allow people to retain the phone when migrating the broadband, but that is totally irrelevant as the fee is for terminating the broadband and nothing to do with the phone.

I know its a Broadband cease charge, As far as Line Rental being mentioned, that was in reply to ADSLMAX where he mentioned keeping the line instead of paying £30.00

My apologies regarding the Phone without Broadband mistake, However my post was mostly angled at the comment by ADSLMAX regarding keeping the phone line instead of paying £30.00 fee and getting VM standalone Broadband as well.

Not worth it. All the special deals are on broadband with phone line and even at the standard price the charge for standalone broadband is almost as much as broadband+line rental.

Whether you keep the phone or not the £30 is still payable - as you agree it is a broadband cease charge...

I have a Plusnet a/c which is no longer subject to a contract. I did manage to contact Plusnet and get them to flag my account to show that no cessation charge should be applied. I did this because I expect to want to quit in the not to distant future.

Handy. As I quoted in one of my earlier posts they don't charge it on Plusnet Essentials, Unlimited, Unlimited Fibre or Unlimited Fibre Extra. If you aren't on one of those and have got them to remove it then that is good news.
