PN dead BT live

Both my neighbour and myself lost our line connection, phone and BB. However, whilst I continue without either, my neighbour has BB reconnected.
Is there an explanation why one and not the other?

Could be any number of things. Might be that someone knocked the wires whilst doing work in the cab and have partially reconnected your neighbours but not yours. Could be in the same bundle and connection has somehow got loose and your neighbours making a partial link but your not. Could be coincidence (although sounds unlikely).

I had this once someone was working on someone else's line at the exchange. The lines are often thousands crammed onto boards and so can be easily knocked.

Having made further enquiries apparently this is not a unique occurrence, chappie down the road. on more than one occasion has his phone cut off but Bt BB reconnected. However, all is now up and running again, thanks all for your responses.
