Re: Setting up a Home Hub 5

[re: Timalay] [link to this post]

So, first of all you change the username and password http://bthomehub.home/index.cgi?active_page=9116

And you turn off Smart Setup http://bthomehub.home/index.cgi?active_page=9136

And you split the 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless networks and turn off Smart Wireless http://bthomehub.home/index.cgi?active_page=9102 by doing this:

1. Select the 5GHz tab and select NO to "Sync with 2.4 GHz:".

2. Then choose a new SSID by adding "5" to the existing one, so you can tell the difference between 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks.

3. While you're there change "Channel selection:" from "Smart wireless" to the current channel.

4. Then press the "Apply" button.

5. Then choose the 2.4GHz tab and change "Channel selection:" from "Smart wireless" to the current channel on 2.4GHz.

6. Then press the "Apply" button again.

7. On your wireless devices now you can select which band to connect to.

And you're good to go smile

"Home Hub 5" google and second option was an FAQ.

What exactly the OP required - who knows?

We're not mind readers and don't know what has been tried. Some posters actually give some info' as to what they've tried.

RFM is usually the best bet!

Was Eclipse Home Option 1, VM 2Mb & O2 Standard
Now Utility Warehouse (up to 16mbps) via Talk Talk

Tips in setting it up. As I originally said. You title says you're a 'fountain of knowledge', but you don't seem be here.

If you must know I tried the Plusnet forum, but I didn't get a reply there.

I don't know if you're aware of this, but everyone's Google results are different.
If you have found something, it's better to give the actual link.
