I thought E.T was his name and Extra Terrestrial his race/description?

Well yes but it's an abbreviation of something and most likely 'Extra Terrestrial'. Can't say I'm an expert on the film though because as an ardent science fiction fan I have always refused to watch it on the grounds that it's stupid smile

Policies like this are pretty common.

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=handing+over+relev...

It's probably not enforceable as the ICO have already said that employers asking for FB details are probably being unreasonable and as soon as they do it you can say they have discriminated against you for who knows what reason based on your personal life.

I hope you don't send your kids to a school because almost all of them say things like this to their staff!

MOT is "Ministry of Transport" (yes, I know it hasn't existed for years) so MOT Test is ok, though personally I only say "MOT".

Hah. But there are different flavours of science-fiction. I like hard science fiction. I've had occasional moments of angst over the fact that my favourite author employs FTL as a central theme in her best work smile

From your link:

"Science fiction critic Gary Westfahl argues that neither term is part of a rigorous taxonomy; instead they are approximate ways of characterizing stories that reviewers and commentators have found useful."
