I don't know the router GUI, but some may places as were the basic connection ones you found. Others may be in one or other log. It's the settings we need, rather than just the result that you posted smile.

It seems it has a Broadcom chipset, so with luck supports telnet. Are you familiar with telnet? This thread suggests it does, but it is disabled as supplied. The person there managed to sort it. DSLStats mentioned there is good for FTTC longterm, so worth the hassle.

As usual, be careful not to upset the DLM. Particularly in the first two days on FTTC!

This would also let you directly compare the stats from this and the Openreach modem when you get it. Assuming it is an HG612 and you unlock it. (That's a simple task).

First thing I did when I got the D6400 was to try enabling Telnet, and I found the same instrustions you just sent, but they simply did not work with the installed firmware (V1.0.0.22_1.0.22) frown

Just have to wait and see ...
As I mentioned earlier with the D6400 set the Transfer Mode to PTM and DSL Mode to VDSL2 and I get NO connection !!!

Are you setting ATM? It should be PTM.

PTM1.101:-
WAN VLAN 1.p = 2
WAN VLAN 1.q = 101

See if that helps smile.

1st Drop down I have is Transfer Mode
I have options of ATM or PTM

When ATM is selected I have the DSL Mode options of AUTO, ADSL,ADSL2 & ADSL2+
When PTM is selected the only option for DSL mode is VDSL2

With PTM and VDSL2 selected the connection does not log in.
With ATM and Auto I get logged in and get this 60/1 weird connection.

When trying PTM,
I have set VLANID to 101 and left Priority set to it's default of 0
Encapsulation is set to PPPoE

I know that I should be using PTM and VDSL2, but it just does not work !!!

It's missing that second VLANID by the look of it. Is there a field for it?

Otherwise, stuck sorry frown. I've been trying to go from the HG612 settings with it in bridge mode.

There is a thread somewhere on connecting it as a modem/router, which is what you have. I'll see if I can find it later, as that should have guaranteed settings.

Noticed that there was a firmware upgrade available for the D6400 (V1.0.0.34_1.3.34)

With the updated firmware I can set the Transfer Mode to PTM and the DSL Mode to VDSL and it logs in and connects smile
VLAN ID is set to 101 as recommended elsewhere.
The other setting is now changed to say "Priority (0 ~ 7)", leaving at default of 0

BTWholeSale Speedtest now shows :-
D/L 74.03 Mbps
U/L 16.64 Mbps

IP Profile
D/L 77.42 Mbps
U/L 20 Mbps
Text
1
23
4
ADSL Link         Downstream                        Upstream
Connection Speed  79987 kbps                        19999 kbpsLine Attenuation  D0( 8.7) D1( 17.6) D2( 25.7) dB   U0( 2.5) U1( 13.3) U2( 18.3) U3(N/A) U4(N/A) dB
Noise Margin      D0( 11.1) D1( 11.1) D2( 11.1) dB  U0( 24.3) U1( 23.5) U2( 24.1) U3(N/A) U4(N/A) dB

So now all is well and I am a happy bunny.
Just goes to show always use the latest firmware

I was going from this on the HG612:-

WAN 802.1q: Enable
VLAN ID: 101 [2-4094]

WAN 802.1p: Enable
Value: 2 [0-7]

No mention of priority there. On a different page altogether we have a tick-box option:- PTM priority:- Normal and High . Perhaps the one you have a mis-labelled? Does it show the available ranges like that?

Suck it and see might be worthwhile, but how many re-syncs have you done and any idea on error counts while it was on the old firmware? The first two days need care.
