Which chipset and version are people connected to that are suffering from this speed loss?

Which DSLAM uses the Infineon chipset? I thought the ECI uses a Lantiq?

I am not having problems but this is the detail from the DSL page, Infineon is used by Lantiq so mine must be an ECI DSLAM - the originally supplied modem is the Huawei HG621 still in the cupboard from week 1

Same here with the 90% upload speed loss when using the 7390.

Me to I get 74.528 kbit/s 4.480 kbit/s

Except, probably coincidentally, I appear to have lost upstream G.INP in the last two days so my upstream has dropped further to 1.7Mbit/s (from 2.4Mbit/s), prior to 30 Oct this was a solid 20Mbit/s.

ASUI Openreach have not been providing upstream G.INP since the ECI modem problem was "fixed" by removing it. On all G.INP-enabled cabinets. That was months ago.

I can assure you that my F!B 7390 was reporting G.INP 'on' in both directions until a couple of days ago (with upstream 'Impulse noise protection' being reported as a value of 40 something, now being reported as 0.1 and CRCs which had all but disappeared are now showing on upstream even at 1.7Mbit/s data rate).

I'd hoped that BTO had abandoned the removal of upstream G.INP. I'd now guess that the (roll-out of) removal of upstream G.INP is still happening (or mine was amongst the last to see this).

Both my old 7390 and new current 7490 on a Huawei cab, showed IMP as 44/41 and on/on both on download and upload. I guess it could be erroneous reporting, especially if as I understand the BT firmware doesn't take adjustment, but the Fritz! firmware still tries nonetheless. And each therefore gives its own readings.

It might possibly explain too why the reported readings are sometimes nonsense. Could it be that the Fritz! firmware is trying some adjustment, perhaps even switching on G.INP on the upload, which is rejected at the cab? But the 7390 and the 7490 then seem to respond differently, the first losing tones and the other retaining them? But for me it took until the week before last for the problem to occur on my 7390, well after when G.INP on the upload was switched off by BT, apparently. At first connection last Thursday the 7490 showed INP off on just the upload, but after a day or so it showed as switched on, where it has remained over the weekend, reboots notwithstanding. Sync speeds and both downloads
and uploads are still the historic normal for for the Fritz! (viz better than the OR modem) for my line on the 7490.

PS Perhaps some good news. A UK user on the Aussie Whirlpool forum reports that AVM have replied saying they are working on it and hope to issue a firmware update soon. Maybe they've identified the cause

G.INP back on for Upstream, now confirmed by GEA Test:

'Retransmission' = G.INP AFAIK.
F!B back to reporting G.INP on both directions, Upstream back 'up' to 2.4Mbit/s, error rate back down to 0

Think I need to see if I can find my OR modem or buy a 7490 or live with reduced up speed for now.
