Aren't the changes down to Wholesale changing the product portfolio? Due to fibre uptake getting faster and wider, they speeds will gradually slow down that they can offer as a maximum.
Same happened with ADSL2+ it was originally upto 24mb, and now it's upto 17mb. Was only a matter of time with fibre.
Nope, not at all related.
ADSL2+ connections are largely sold at lower "best case" speeds as a result of some Ofcom rules on advertising (the advertised up to has to be achievable in so many 5 of cases) and companies making regular broadband seem less attractive now than Fibre.
Fibre speed advertising has nothing to do with changes on wholesale - they're still offering the same products (and will add one soon), and it is still entirely possible to achieve full 80/20 sync (I still do, always have).
