Re: PlusNet Connection drops

I know the noise margin can be fixed. It always could. My point was literally the word "reset". DLM has not been reset. One of its parameters had been set. It is possible that a new 10 days has been started, but as we all know that simply sets the MSR and FTR. The connection speed and both of those will now be lower than previously.

My second point was that I have grave doubts that any serious effort has been made to find a cause of the drops. That being by far the more important of the two. It is a resurgence of the spell we saw a bit ago of masking the symptom rather than curing the illness.

The line is now expected to perform badly because of what sounds from the OP very much like a fault has developed. If nothing is done, the poster's only hope is that it soon fails completely.

The OP needs to get back to Chris Parr and ask him to look into what's going on. Whether someone in support has just taken the easy way out. Chris himself wouldn't want that.

The indispensable man or woman passes from the scene, and what happens next is more or less the same thing as was happening before.

I have to accept that as you deal with these things, but it's a very strange word for BTW to use for that process.

I'd have called that a hard pinned SNR meself. And as to it being in any way shape or form a fix ?????
If unstable on a 9db profile already then putting it on a 12db is only going to mask the issue.

Don't hold your breath. I had the same problem, two engineer visits, last one 2 weeks ago and heard.......................................nothing from PN.

Not my experience. Have you logged into the member centre? I found Plusnet very helpful, whether it done through live chat, e-mail or phone. Even though the Openreach Engineer found nothing, Plusnet still continued to do tests afterwards.

Just seem strange that once the wheels had been put in motion, my speeds started to increase even before the engineer called - shows quite plainly on my TBB speedtests. The cynic in me might suggest maybe OR play with lines reducing the throughput until the customer complains. :-/

Nothing on the tickets. I give up with them and look forward to the end of my contract.
