Plusnet claim about satisfied customers.

Plusnet claim:

"More satisfied customers than Sky, Virgin & TalkTalk"

Do you think that they are claiming to have more satisfied customers than either Sky, Virgin or TalkTalk, or are they claiming more satisfied customers than Sky, Virgin and TalkTalk cpmbined?

I suppose a good starting point would be to define "satisfied customer", but no, you'd have to go back a step further and consider customer expectations. My brother-in-law is satisfied with a small bowl of porridge for breakfast and I'm satisfied with a full english 8^)

Obviously if you apply those percentages to the subscriber numbers there will be more satisfied customers by numbers on the other ISPs, because the other ISPs have many more customers than Plusnet.

Worth noting the kinds of customers using different ISPs... Generally those on BT for example are willing to pay more, generally as their expectations are higher (does it mean it's any better - hard to tell).. Somebody on talktalk who gets "free" broadband, usually has lower importance placed on their broadband, hence why they don't pay more and will be satisfied easier.

That is a very good point. I'm very happy with VH even though I have high performance expectations for my home broadband.

I am finding Plusnet's 2mb upload speed cap a deterrent.

Some folk can't get LLU provision so TalkTalk isn't available as far as their checker states and Sky Connect is expensive compared to BT's offerings to new customers.

It's all in the wording or lack of it with advertising. wink

I got a good deal with Plusnet but I wouldn't say I was satisfied. There always seems to be a problem: the latest is being cut off intermittantly. frown

I've never had an ISP I was completely satisfied with but I've had a lot worse.

Individually, since their ratings aren't much higher than the others. If you look all around the internet you'll find ratings from very low to excellent, just like the other ISPs.
Their customer service isn't all that great in my experience. I've just left them because of how they've handled my service.
