It means you want something with a Broadcom chipset.
Mid-December I bought a Billion 8800NL R2 from Amazon, to replace an Openreach HG612 and also a ZyXel VMG1312-B10A that originally went with the HG612 but I later reconfigured into modem/router mode. I also tried a Draytek Vigor 130 modem which made a right mess of my line!
So far I'm very pleased with the Billion. It seems very stable and is suggesting I will get a considerably higher connection speed than the HG612, once the newfound stability persuades DLM to remove the banding it placed on my line months ago.
You can of course return the Billion to Amazon if it doesn't show an immediate improvement. My Draytek went back within five days
Kindness isn't going to cure the world of all its awfulness but it's a good place to begin. Daisy Ridley.
