If you don't use the phone look at Pulse8 line rental (£13 per month) - I'm using them for the phone line with FTTC from AAISP.
AAISP is £10 for a "wires only" phone line for their broadband?
I'd love to go back to them, but cant justify the 50% increase compared to what I have with Plusnet now.

But you could take the Pulse8 line rental with Plusnet broadband and still save money. I did for a short while.

We do use the phone (more for incoming than outgoing), but the total cost of the calls plus line rental is less than BT or Plusnet would be for the line rental alone - and then we'd have the cost of a call package and/or calls on top.
AAISP's wires only doesn't accept incoming calls.

I'd pondered that as well but the PN retention deal although not as good as the previous one reduces the cost of BB on my market A/1 exchange (20CN) only if I have line rental or LRS with PN, the June line rental price increase with PN means that the COT, after I contacted them, would reduce further the cost of my BB by another 2.49GBP a month with a new contract of 12 or 18 months if I stay with PN ..... naturally the line rental would have increased to18.99GBP a month, of course I can do nothing and stay on my current contract for six more months.
Edit:
Unlimited Broadband when taken without Plusnet line rental
With a 30 day contract: If you live in a low cost area it costs £14.99 a month. If you live outside one of these areas it costs £22.49 a month. A £60.00 activation fee applies.
With a 12 or 18 month contract: If you live in a low cost area it costs £13.49 a month. If you live outside one of these areas it costs £20.99 a month. A £35.00 activation fee applies

Ah, if I read that correctly they have hugely increased the surcharge for not taking Plusnet line rental. I should have checked.
For years including when I did it the surcharge was £2.50pm. IIRC one price change upped that to £3.50, and now from your post it is £7.50. Ouch!

I've just checked and it is still £2.50 extra for me (Unlimited Fibre Extra - £22.49 without phone line, £19.99 with.)

Yes, but like I was, you are on a legacy product where that sort of thing doesn't change.

The £7.50 a month is the surcharge for a Market A area, not for having no PlusNet line rental. I believe the additional charge for that is still £2.50 a month as stated by IanBB.

Grrrr. At myself . Ah, if I read that correctly they have hugely increased the surcharge for not taking Plusnet line rental. I should have checked. So I didn't read it correctly, and I should have checked .
Thanks for the correction. Unfortunately I'm an hour too late to edit or better still delete the post.

The no line rental surcharge is £2.50 for fibre and £3.50 for ADSL.
