Thank you - that does help clarify an otherwise seemingly weird thing (but a cheek that they were ever doing it in the first place!)

If you are thinking of keeping the line rental with PN but using the LRS product check that you will still get e&w free calls, my LRS just covers line rental as there were no free calls or other call packages available with it.

You mean you migrated just the landline, and paid PN's premium for not taking phone & BB both?
In effect yes. I never did have the phone with Plusnet, it was with BT and a bit more expensive than Plusnet at the time. A couple of people at least who both had Plusnet broadband and phone followed to P8 with their lines though.

IIRC one was paying for Anytime, and the cost of that that equated to 700 minutes of Pulse8 time.
In reply to a post by Oliver341:
The no line rental surcharge is £2.50 for fibre and £3.50 for ADSL.

Ah, thanks for the tip - that's a possible hitch.

Although...I wonder if I've lost it already, but not realised, because I didn't make enough calls to notice?

Logically, if free evenings & weekends were linked to my (old) LRS, they should have stopped when I declined to renew it. If, however, they are NOT linked to LRS at all, then deciding to renew LRS after a break shouldn't affect my call plan. confused

Edit: Hmm, I definitely still have evenings and weekends at the moment - just checked.

So if I want to renew LRS they might decide to strip that?

Seems what you gain on the swings, you lose on the roundabouts, in that case. Without working through all my phone records for the past year, it would be difficult to know how much E & W/E has actually saved me. Not much, probably.

Are there any pitfalls regarding the VDSL connection when transferring the Line Rental to Pulse8

Not that any of us have experienced. The Pulse8 phone service is simple WLR3. It is not "LLU". Unlike their broadband which is TalkTalk Business. Though the possibilty of a cockup by Plusnet can never be ruled out.

Jelv, posting earlier in the thread, had been with Plusnet for both for donkey's years and had no problem so far as I know.

Okay, thanks, Saver LR doesn't run out until August, but if they are upping the prices, then I might shift as well, I'm also a low telephone use customer, I'll just wait and see.

Confirmed. My line rental was with BT when I changed to Pulse8. It was after that I moved from Plusnet to AAISP - again no issues.
