This is to install a new line. That said PN say an engineer needs to come here, and BT say they don't

And I agree, OFCOM need to be made aware so I will report it.

They have replaced the contracts from 12 to 18 months overnight too - so that's an auto goodbye anyway

Their pricing is so messed up it's complicated. Yesterday 12 month contracts were cheaper than 18 months and today it's the other way around. Isn't that switch and bait? Isn't that illegal?

You try and find out how a low cost area is defined as well.

I have tried several times and failed. Years ago it was only Market 3. Then it became 2 and 3.

During that period some exchanges were re-graded - I don't know if they took any notice. But when the 1/2/3 grading was replaced by A and B they clearly did not take any notice of the many re-gradings that took place then.

The change was not 1 >> A and 2/3 >> B. They were properly re-classified. However I think Plusnet still use the 1/2/3 system (as does samknows!!!).

They don't appear to be describing the same job. If it is a full new install, with a new master socket, it would definitely require a site visit by an engineer. However if there is an unused master socket available then a new line could be provided by reconnecting it. No work would be needed on the premises, so no engineer visit. However while this may be a new line it isn't a new install.
