Worked on previous routers. Maybe the WIFI on the tv is basic and the instructions need to be read to see if it works on a newer version. Not everything is backwards compatable.

Yes, I thought I'd give that a go and it seems there's no issues when I connect the TV to the 2.4ghz frequency (just on the 5ghz one).

Yes, I thought I'd give that a go and it seems there's no issues when I connect the TV to the 2.4ghz frequency (just on the 5ghz one).

Very odd.
old router was 2.4ghz only. What this tells us is that your TV likely has a faulty WiFi card on 5Ghz.

Thanks ukhardy. And sadly the warranty's expired for the TV. But even though it's on the 2.4ghz frequency, at least everything's working ok.
